Seahouses & the surrounding area
Explore the area
Come and enjoy a relaxing Northumberland holiday in our Seahouses accommodation while exploring the local area and everything Seahouses and Northumberland has to offer.
The Farne Islands
Just a stepping stone from the Farne Islands, Seahouses provides access to the world-famous islands which lie just three miles of the coastline. The most famous Sea Bird Sanctuary in the British Isle, the Farne Islands are world renowned, making them and any bird watcher or nature enthusiast’s ideal Northumberland holiday destination. With a large colony of grey seals, the islands provide something to see for the whole family.
Visit the islands during breeding season and look forward to witnessing several types of nesting seabirds, such as Terns, Puffins, Guillemots, Shags, Eider Ducks, Kittiwakes and more. While birdwatchers have plenty to watch above the water, divers can look forward to exploring numerous underwater wrecks – sometimes with the help of an inquisitive seal.
With several trips leaving from Seahouses daily, Malabar Guesthouse provides the perfect holiday accommodation in Northumberland for those looking to pay the islands a visit. Boat trips can be booked easily from the harbour, which our friendly bed and breakfast staff can direct you towards.
Fishing Trips
If you’ve already taken full advantage of the scenic coastal hills and towns, why not explore the Northumberland coast further by taking a local fishing trip. Book a Sea Angling trip with a local expert and look forward to seeing a variety of fish to be caught in in our waters. All equipment can be hired from your Boat Captain, and trips can be booked from the Harbour. Fishing trips operate most days of the summer, so do check ahead with our guesthouse team for further information on availability.
Golf
As well as all the coast and sea have to offer, Northumberland is any golfers paradise. With an impressive sixteen golf courses from which to choose, all located within 35 miles of our Seahouses bed and breakfast, there is plenty to keep any golfer occupied all summer long. Located just a short five-minute walk from our Northumberland bed and breakfast, you will find Seahouses Golf Course, which offers membership-free full golf club hire all year round.
